2020 Flyers Cup Rankings

​Philadelphia, PA (December 30, 2019) The potential contenders for the 2020 Flyers Cup are beginning to take shape as the first Power Rankings are released across the four boys’ divisions – AAA, AA, A, and NJ/DE. It is the first look at the new rankings that will be released weekly leading up to this year’s tournament which begins on Monday, March 2, 2020.

It is important to note that these rankings are not final, and Flyers Cup Seeds will not be officially
​selected until the completion of the regular season.

    ​St. Joseph’s Prep (APAC) sits atop the AAA rankings with overall record of 7-4-0-0, with three of those loses coming to out of state prep schools. Holy Ghost Prep (APAC), Malvern Prep (APAC), and La Salle (APAC) round out to the top 4 with Father Judge (ICSHL – PCL) being the only non-APAC school to enter the Top 5.

    ​With an overall record of 8-2-0-0, the Vikings of West Chester East (ICSHL) lead the way in the A division. They currently sit at the top of the Ches-Mont division and have only faltered to AA power Downingtown West and cross-town rival West Chester Rustin. Plymouth Whitemarsh (SHSHL) follows WC East with an overall record of 6-1-0-0, undefeated against fellow A opponents. Springfield (ICSHL), Hatboro Horsham (SHSHL), and West Chester Rustin (ICSHL) round out the Top 5. The Top 10 includes six teams from the ICSHL, two from the CPIHL, and two from the SHSHL.

    ​Central Bucks South (SHSHL) is your current top ranked team at AA after posting a 7-0-0-1 record with their only blemish being an overtime loss to AAA La Salle. Haverford High (ICSHL) sits just behind CB South with a record 11-1-0-0, suffering a loss to 2019 Flyers Cup Champion Downingtown East. Perkiomen Valley (ICSHL), North Penn (SHSHL), and CB West (SHSHL) round out to the Top 5 of the AA division. In total, the Top 10 is comprised of seven teams from the SHSHL and three from the ICSHL.

    Perennial power of the SJHSHL, Cherokee is your top ranked team in the NJ/DE division with an overall record of 6-2-3-0. They are followed by fellow Southern New Jersey rival Shawnee.  Salesianum (ICSHL – PCL) is the lone team from Delaware, sitting at number three, with Eastern and Moorestown (SJHSHL) rounding out the Top five.

The next 2020 Flyers Cup Power Rankings will be released on Monday, January 6, 2020.
